
Dennis Erskine is the owner and operator of DENNIS ERSKINE SAFARIS and South Texas Safaris, outfitting guided hunts in Texas and Africa.
Dennis began his hunting career when he was seven years old, living in South Texas. As an adult, he founded his own outfitting company, South Texas Safaris, and spent over 25 years guiding clients on exciting, memorable and successful hunts throughout Texas.
In 1980, he made his first trip to Africa and has been going back ever since to hunt, and now to guide hunts as a Professional Hunter.
Dennis is a lifetime member of the Safari Club International (SCI), a member of the Board of Directors of the Alamo Chapter of the SCI, a certified Master Measurer, and is certified in safe capture procedures. He is also a member of the Exotic Wildlife Association (EWA), Texas Trophy Hunters, National Rifle Association (NRA), and to date, has put over 100 Top Ten animals in the SCI record book!
Over the years Dennis has made numerous contributions to SCI chapters throughout the United States, as well as to the Texas Child Abuse Foundation, Lady Cattle Barons for Cancer, and the Boys and Girls Club of Laredo, Texas. He has also donated hunts to Cross Trail Outfitters for underprivileged children, and to the Armed Forces. .He is currently a nominee for honors as North American Professional Hunter of the Year.
Dennis is the father of four sons, the oldest three guide with his company, has been a professional rodeo cowboy, and lives in Bandera, in the Texas Hill Country, with his wife, Chris.
